God’s Blessings

Declining the great love
of God
with a frozen head
hugging hard
your fake operating systems technology,
mind filled with
sea rock
whenever you attempt
to go past the universe,
you are also on the list of
those abandoned by
God.
For a butterfly to spread
its wings
or a matured leaf
to wither to the ground
is not possible without
permission from God.
Your atheist policy
is just the roadside game
of a grey haired lunatic.
You will scoop up
all your philosophies
and start one day
for that very place
where you came from.
When you were
a soul there,
God
had blessed
you too.

The Lady as Beautify as Sunghan fish

I have told you
that she’s as beautiful
as the Sunghan fish
and that her name is Sudha.
Where myths spread
on the village grounds at Van Ela,
when me, she and friends
wandered past
the fields, bushes
and the outer edge of forests
to catch fish
from dried up rivulets
in dry hot summer,
I should have told her
about my fragile love.
Delayed wisdom
reminds of those times
of extreme closeness.
In movements
powered by emotion,
she breaks the soul
from time to time
as a period of grief.
I have four or five children.
She too must have that many.
Before the days
when death carries away,
this grief of a century
must be told to her
or
she must see
these scribblings.

The Bird that Carried a Tree

Seated under a tree,
I draw a tree only.
The tree begins to flower.
It starts to bear fruits
after a few minutes.
Since it was very hot then,
the shadow sways and moves
and falls on the flowers
and buries its beauty.
Seeing the river
that trod over
hills and forests
relaxing among the fields,
I drink from it
and start on the form
of a tree
and even put in a bird
at the top of the tree.
As the colour of
the bird’s feathers
is to my liking,
I stroke it gently
with my fingers.
The bird
starts to move
and then flies away
carrying the tree.
My daughter Sumaiya
who stands near me
quietly till now,
will take this drawing by dad
to her classroom tomorrow
and get 99% from
her teacher Sudha.
